Quiz Analytics: The Metrics That Actually Matter for Quiz Performance
Most quiz creators look at total completions and call it done. I track seven metrics that reveal why a quiz succeeds or fails and how to fix it. I used to measure quiz success with one metric: total completions. If the number was high, the quiz was good. If the number was low, the quiz was bad. This metric told me whether a quiz was working but not why. When a quiz underperformed, I had no data to guide improvements. I was guessing. Over time, I developed a set of seven metrics that diagnose quiz performance with enough precision to guide specific fixes. Each metric points to a specific problem, and each problem has a specific solution. Start Rate: Is the Hook Working? Start rate is the percentage of visitors who see the quiz landing page and click start. This metric measures the effectiveness of the quiz title, description, and thumbnail. A low start rate means the quiz is not enticing enough to begin. The problem is in the packaging, not the content. I track start rate separately for different traffic sources. A quiz might have a high start rate from social media but a low start rate from search. More guides are on the Quiz Hub Blog.
